The original cast from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is making a strong comeback to the big screen. According to Netflix, the actors and actresses will be in an anime adaption for this very movie. Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead will reprise their roles as Scott Pilgrim and Romona Flowers.
Kiercan Culkin (Wallace Wells), Anna Kendrick (Stacey Pilgrim), Brie Larson (Envy Adams), Aubrey Plaza (Julie Powers), Ellen Wong (Knives Chow), Alison Pill (Kim Pine), Johnny Simmons (Young Neil), and Mark Webber (Stephen Stills) will portray their characters as well. In addition, Ramona’s evil exes are set to make an appearance in the upcoming animated series. The list includes Satya Bhabha (Matthew Patel), Chris Evans (Lucas Lee), Brandon Routh (Todd Ingram), Jason Schwartzman (Gideon Graves), and Mae Whitman (Roxie).
The movie and brand new show take admiration from Bryan Lee Malley’s Scott Pilgrim comic book series.
Edgar Wright, the executive producer, said in a statement:
“One of the proudest and most enjoyable achievements of my career was assembling and working with the dynamite cast of Scott Pilgrim. Since the film’s release in 2010, we’ve done Q&As, remembrances, and charity read-throughs, but there was never the occasion to reunite the whole gang on an actual project.
Until now, original creator Bryan Lee O’Malley and writer Ben David Grabinski have conjured up an anime series of Scott Pilgrim that doesn’t just expand the universe but also … well, watch it. I’m happy to announce that I have helped coax the original cast back to voice their characters on this epic new adventure. You are in for a treat.”
