Freeform has decided to cancel its comedy series, Single Drunk Female. The show ran for only two seasons.
Taking admiration from the Bridget Fonda-led 1992 erotic thriller film Single White Female, Freeform’s series premiered in January of 2022 and wrapped up this May. Simone Finch created the series.
Single Drunk Female starred Sofia Black-D’Elia, who played Samantha Fink, a 28-year-old alcoholic forced to move back in with her mother, Carol (Ally Sheedy), after her life gets altered. In Season 2, Black-D’Elia’s character reached a year and a half of sobriety and was getting her responsibilities in order.
The comedy was also led by Rebecca Henderson, Sasha Compère, Lily Mae Harrington, Garrick Bernard, and Ian Gomez.
Single Drunk Female is still on Hulu but will be removed soon.
