Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Seven Buck Productions, the company founded by Johnson and Dany Garcia, have signed a new multi-year deal with The Walt Disney Company to create films for theatrical and streaming. The Black Adam star has been attempting to move towards the ranks in the DC Universe but has seemed to be put on the backend. However, Dwayne Johnson is looking to move in a different direction by signing with Disney.
Johnson founded Seven Bucks Productions alongside Dany Garcia to solely produce film and TV content. Viewers expect the concept of the deal to push “The Rock” into the leading role of a couple of projects. The intriguing detail of this deal is that it’s not limited to film content. That means possibly we could see Johnson appear in all Disney divisions. Amongst the divisions listed are Marvel Studios, Star Wars/Lucasfilm, as well as Disney Animation, Pixar, and Century Studios.
Actors with start-up production companies usually look for ways to expand and create more jobs for others. However, this new venture can open doors for many media positions within the industry.
Johnson has appeared in many Disney films that viewers grew to love, such as Moana, Jungle Cruise, and The Game Plan. With this new partnership, The Rock is potentially looking to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe and find the source of a new character. Only time will tell if this will come into play.
