The new Street Fighter movie has lost Talk to Me filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou. According to a source close to the twin brother duo, they allegedly parted from Street Fighter due to schedule conflicts. Because Danny and Michael are working on A24’s Bring Her Back, they couldn’t meet Legendary and Capcom’s filming schedule.
The Street Fighter film is Legendary’s feature adaptation of the classic video game from Capcom. No other filmmaker has taken on the role so far.
Street Fighter hit arcades in 1987 and became one the biggest fighting video games of all time. Its predecessor Street Fighter II released in 1991 and was the first to offer a choice of varous characters, fighting techniques, changing one-on-one play for life.
