Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis will reprise their in “Freaky Friday 2.”
Disney is set to produce a new sequel, Freaky Friday 2, starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. This announcement came from Walt Disney Studios via a press release. The filming of this project will officially take place in Los Angeles.
The sequel to the 2003 original film is set to be released in 202. In Freaky Friday 2, returning cast members will reprise their roles as former characters Tess and Anna Coleman. Chad Michael Murray will return as Jake Christina Vidal Mitchell as Maddie, Mark Harmon as Ryan, Haley Hudson as Peg, Lucille Song as Pei-Pei’s mom, Rosalind Chao as Pei-Pei, and Stephen Tobolowsky as Mr. Bates.
The sequel to the film will bring a plot twist, picking up years after (Curtis) and AnnaLohan) experienced an identity crisis. The synopsis reveals that this time around, Anna has a daughter who is soon to become her stepdaughter. As they navigate numerous challenges together, both families eventually come together, leading Anna and Tess to face new obstacles. How exciting!
New Cast Members ✨
In addition to the returning cast members, new will be joining the project. The new casting additions include Butters, Manny Jacinto, Sophia Hammons, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.
Nisha Ganatra will serve as the creative director for Freaky Friday 2, bringing her from directing films like Cake (2005), The High Note (2020), and Late Night (2019), among other titles. On production side, Andrew Gunn, Kristin Burr, and Curtis are producing the film, with Nathan Kelly, Lohan, and Ann Marie Sanderlin serving as executive producers.
