Pixar Debuts ‘Dream Productions’ Trailer Deep Diving Into A New Adventure Inside Riley’s Mind

Pixar Animation Studios is set to bring fans back into the vibrant world of Riley’s mind with their latest Disney+ series, Dream Productions. This Inside Out spinoff promises an enchanting and comedic behind-the-scenes look at how Riley’s dreams are crafted—on time and on budget. With a newly released trailer and poster, anticipation is at an all-time high as fans gear up for its December 11th debut.

Disney / Pixar

Set between the events of Inside Out and the blockbuster sequel Inside Out 2, Dream Productions introduces viewers to the dream factory inside Riley’s mind. Here, the Core Emotions send memories in need of extra processing to the titular studio, where dreams are brought to life every night.

Praised director Paula Persimmon (voiced by Paula Pell) runs the operation, but things take a hilariously chaotic turn when she’s paired with Xeni (voiced by Richard Ayoade), a smug daydream director eager to prove himself in the high-stakes world of night dreams. Together, they face their own “nightmare”: crafting the next hit dream while navigating egos, deadlines, and the unpredictable chaos of Riley’s evolving mind.

A Double Dose Of Inside Out In 2024

Originally slated for Spring 2025, Dream Productions’ release was moved up to December 2024, swapping places with Pixar’s upcoming Win or Lose. This means fans will enjoy a double feature of Inside Out magic this year, following the massive success of Inside Out 2, which debuted earlier in June to record-breaking box office numbers.

Inside Out 2 delved deeper into Riley’s emotions, introducing new Emotions as headquarters underwent a dramatic transformation. The sequel opened to $294.2 million globally in its first weekend, cementing its place as one of Pixar’s biggest hits.

Star-Studded Voice Cast Returns

The series reunites much of the beloved voice cast from the Inside Out franchise. Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, and Lewis Black return to their roles as Joy, Sadness, and Anger, respectively. Tony Hale and Liza Lapira take over as Fear and Disgust, while Kensington Tallman once again voices Riley Anderson. In addition to Maya Rudolph and Ally Maki joining the cast to round out the talent lineup.

Dreaming Of The Future

While Dream Productions is the latest installment, fans are already buzzing about the possibility of an Inside Out 3. Kensington Tallman, the voice of Riley, recently shared her hopes for a third movie that explores Riley’s transition into adulthood, offering a compelling continuation of her emotional journey.

“I feel like the three pivotal moments in our lives are childhood, teenhood, and adulthood… Going from a teenager to an adult is so different. I think that would be a really unique storyline for Inside Out 3. Fingers crossed!” Tallman said in an interview.
