Ye is known for frequently announcing, shelving, and revisiting a wide range of projects, a habit that has made his album releases—and other ventures—infamously unpredictable. This pattern extends beyond music to his numerous business initiatives.
Over the weekend, Ye took to Instagram to share his vision and “systems” for an ambitious project called DROAM City, originally conceived as a self-sufficient urban landscape in the Middle East.
The post showcased a minimalist, white environment accompanied by a caption detailing concepts for the community. These include architectural philosophies, spatial optimization, functional design, accessibility, and aesthetic appeal.
The Master Plan!
For those unfamiliar, the Yeezy founder once proposed constructing DROAM in Los Angeles. However, the idea faced vocal opposition from his neighbors. According to a TMZ report, residents of the North Beverly Park gated community described his plans as “delusional,” suggesting he would face significant challenges in securing the necessary votes and support for a project of this scale.
Their remarks seem more cautionary than outright dismissive, as undertaking such an ambitious and risky initiative is inherently challenging from the outset.
Despite this, many fans found Kanye’s vision for DROAM intriguing and fitting, particularly given the buzz surrounding his upcoming albums. It’s no surprise that he would bring up DROAM while assuring fans that both his collaborative project, VULTURES 3 with Ty Dolla $ign, and his solo album, Bully, are slated for release in late 2025. However, some skepticism remains regarding the certainty of these claims.
It remains uncertain whether DROAM will come to fruition, as it stands out as an exceptionally ambitious endeavor, even by Ye’s lofty standards.
