‘You’ Season 5 Trailer Reveals Joe’s Relationship Status

Netflix has released another teaser for You‘s fifth season. This time around, this short clip highlights Joe’s marriage to Kate after the series of events in the last season. Based on Caroline Kepnes‘ thriller novel series, the show follows Penn Badgley‘s character, Joe Goldberg, as he obsessively fixates on several women, often resulting in fatal consequences. In the fourth season, Joe attempts to escape his past while in London, where he meets Kate Galvin, played by Charlotte Ritchie, a gallery manager. Their relationship ignites his bad habits as he attempts to escape the truth.

In the trailer, Penn Badgley reflects on his career shift from a bookstore owner with a dark side to his now alleged improved self. The footage spots Kate with Joe as he helps her get dressed. Badgley ultimately expresses how their relationship has improved his life. However, certain highlighted words and phrases on-screen hint at hidden motives, implying that the truth is coming to light, even after Joe’s successful relationship with Kate and his escape from his past.
