Paramount Pictures and Skydance have just released some jaw-dropping behind-the-scenes footage from the Tom Cruise-led action movie Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
In the new clip, which was released on the film’s official Instagram page, Cruise is seen pulling off a daring stunt while holding on to a yellow airplane. According to the caption, the Golden Globe Awards-winning actor was 8,000 feet in the air and faced wind speeds of 140 mph. Ultimately, the footage captures one of the boldest stunts ever attempted in the Mission: Impossible franchise. The brave act also showcases Cruise’s unwavering dedication to doing real stunts, showing fans once again why he’s still the best when it comes to action movies.

Crafted specifically for the cinematic experience, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning was shot using IMAX cameras and created for premium formats such as Dolby Cinema, 4DX, and ScreenX. The movie sees Ethan Hunt and the IMF team on the hunt for a new weapon that can be quite life-threatening if it falls into the wrong hands.
“With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, a deadly race around the globe begins,” the logline continues. “Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than the mission — not even the lives of those he cares about most.”

Set to hit theaters on May 23, 2025, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is helmed by longtime collaborator Christopher McQuarrie, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Erik Jendresen. The cast list includes newcomers and familiar faces: Holt McCallany, Rolf Saxon, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Angela Bassett, and more.
