Netflix Drops Trailer For ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, marking the return of original series star Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby. The preview reveals that Barry Keoghan portrays an older Duke Shelby: Tommy’s illegitimate son, who has taken control of the Peaky Blinders organization.

Set against the turmoil of World War II, the trailer depicts a fractured England as the gang spreads fear across the country. Ada Shelby, played by Sophie Rundle, warns Tommy, “Your gypsy son is running Peaky Blinders like it’s 1919 all over again,” forcing him to confront his past and return to the violent world he once left behind. Meanwhile, Tim Roth appears as a British fascist sympathizer who tempts Duke with the prospect of aligning with Germany during the war. Ultimately, Tommy must reassert his authority and face Duke head-on to protect Birmingham.

Alongside Murphy and Rundle, Stephen Graham and Ned Dennehy reprise their roles as Shelby allies Hayden Stagg and Charlie Strong. New additions to the cast include Rebecca Ferguson and Jay Lycurgo.

The film is directed by Tom Harper, who previously helmed episodes of the original Peaky Blinders series. The show debuted on BBC in 2013 before Netflix acquired U.S. streaming rights. After six seasons, the acclaimed drama concluded in 2022. Created by British screenwriter Steven Knight, the franchise continues to expand. A sequel series, executive produced by Murphy, has been ordered for two seasons by Netflix and the BBC and is set after the events of The Immortal Man.

According to the official logline, postwar Birmingham is rising from the devastation of WWII, rebuilding “a better future out of concrete and steel.” In this new chapter of Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders, the fight to control the city’s vast reconstruction project ignites a fierce and mythic struggle. It’s a city brimming with opportunity and danger, with the Shelby family once again at its bloody center.
