Disney’s live-action Moana movie will officially have a fan-favorite character reappear on the big screen. In the film’s final trailer, Jermaine Clement is seen reprising his role as Tamatoa. Meanwhile, Moana and Maui have a friendly word spar and team up to explore the ocean. One scene even cuts to Moana being captured by Tamatoa. The most memorable parts of the trailer, though, mirror staple scenes from the animated film and include the top hits “You’re Welcome” and “We Know the Way.”
The cast includes Catherine Laga’aia as Moana, Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Rena Owen as Gramma Tala, John Tui as Chief Tui, Jemaine Clement as Tamatoa, and Frankie Adams as Sina.

As per the synopsis, “Moana answers the Ocean’s call and, for the first time, voyages beyond the reef of her island of Motunui with the infamous demigod Maui on an unforgettable journey to restore prosperity to her people.”

The live-action Moana movie is directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Dwayne Johnson, Beau Flynn, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Auliʻi Cravalho, who voiced Moana in the animated movie, serves as an executive producer. The film will feature original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foaʻi, and Mark Mancina. The score composed by Mancina.
