Warner Bros. has pushed back the release of Panic Carefully, the new thriller from director Sam Esmail. The movie was originally set to come out on February 26, 2027, but it will now be released in theaters and IMAX on April 9, 2027. The studio has not explained why the date changed.
The film stars Julia Roberts and Elizabeth Olsen, bringing Roberts and Esmail together again after they worked on Leave the World Behind. The cast also includes Eddie Redmayne, Brian Tyree Henry, Ben Chaplin, Aidan Gillen, Joe Alwyn, and Naledi Murray.
Sam Esmail, best known for creating Mr. Robot, wrote and directed the movie. Although most of the story is being kept under wraps, Panic Carefully is expected to be a suspenseful thriller about the search for a dangerous cyberterrorist. The film is said to have a tense style similar to Mr. Robot and The Silence of the Lambs.
Even with the delay, Panic Carefully is still scheduled for a full theatrical and IMAX release in 2027. Fans are already looking forward to the film because of its cast and mysterious story.
After finishing Panic Carefully, Esmail is expected to begin work on another movie called Tesseract, a mystery science fiction film that is expected to star Glen Powell.
