If you have yet to be fully immersed in the drama, thrill, and confusion of Netflix’s latest show Tiger King, then we suggest you sit back, relax, and start that first episode. It seems Cardi B has already entered the fandom.
The Bronx-born rapper took to Twitter in defense of Joe “Exotic” Maldonado-Passage, the controversial star of current Netflix phenomenon, docu-series Tiger King Joe Exotic, a private zoo owner with hundreds of exotic animals. He is currently serving a 22-year-sentence for allegedly attempting to facilitate the murder of his biggest enemy, Carole Baskin, and a series of animal cruelty charges. However, the Grammy award winning rapper seems to think he was framed.
Cardi initiated a Twitter rant late-Friday night, with a bunch of messages in support of Joe Exotic. In Cardi’s opinion, the charismatic inmate did not get a fair day in court, saying she would consider setting up a GoFundMe account for the former Oklahoma governor contender (oh yes, he ran for office).
After calling out Baskin, Cardi retweeted a meme asserting Big Cat Rescue founder killed her late husband and fed him to the tigers she keeps in her Florida sanctuary, an accusation leveled against Baskin by Exotic and several others throughout the course of the documentary.
But wait, the plot thickens.
Exotic recently filed a $94 million lawsuit against the US Fish and Wildlife Service and is seeking a presidential pardon.
“This lawsuit has been filed in the name of Justice, The Trump Administration must be made aware of the Overreach, perjury, abuse of power and the failure to uphold the Oath of their position which is truth and Justice for all,” the gun-toting Oklahoma native wrote in a post.
Joe also alleges he was “discriminated against because he is the only person charged with this statute because [he] is an openly gay male with the largest collection of generic tigers and crossbreeds.”
Fear not #TeamJoe, with Cardi B’s superstar platform we would not be surprised if donations were truly raised.
