Amazon Prime Video is making a new RoboCop TV series. The streaming service has officially ordered 8 episodes of the show. Amazon has been working on the project since purchasing MGM in 2022.
The story follows a powerful robot that joins the city’s police force. The robot is given the mind and memories of a popular police officer who died in the line of duty.
Peter Ocko is writing the series and will be the showrunner. Meanwhile, James Wan is executive producing alongside original RoboCop creators Michael Miner and Ed Neumeier.

James Wan said he’s been a huge RoboCop fan for years and wants the series to stay true to the original while updating it for today’s world. The show will explore topics like technology, identity, and the power of big corporations.
The original RoboCop movie came out in 1987 and starred Peter Weller as the famous half-man, half-machine police officer. The franchise later expanded with sequels, a 2014 reboot, TV shows, video games, and comic books. The new series will stay true to the classic RoboCop and introduce the character to a new generation of tv lovers.
