Deadline reports that John Grisham’s novel, A Time For Mercy, will be turned into a limited miniseries. The newest movie focuses on lawyer Jake Brigance. Matthew McConaughey is said to take the lead role.
Joel Schumacher’s A Time to Kill film is based on Grisham’s 1989 novel. The courtroom crime drama is set in Clanton, Mississippi, and follows a fearless young lawyer as he defends a black man accused of murdering two white men who raped his ten-year-old daughter. The film also stars Sandra Bullock, Samuel L. Jackson, Kiefer, and Donald Sutherland.

This film marks the most recent collaboration between HBO and McConaughey, who have worked together in Eastbound & Down.
