A24’s live-action Elden Ring movie has taken a huge leap in its production phase. In a now-deleted Instagram post, prop artist Sean Schofield proposed that filming is finished. He shared a message from director Alex Garland and the film’s producers thanking the cast and crew for all their hard work.
The message said:
“Dear cast and crew, thank you for your incredibly hard work on Elden Ring. Your skill, dedication, and all-round professionalism were integral in bringing this unique project to life. We wish you a well-earned rest. Thank you and very best wishes, Alex, Allon, Matthew, Peter, Andrew and Charlie.”
Schofield also wrote, “Dream job to end all dream jobs. Six solid months of blood, sweat and tears making the coolest stuff ever, working alongside the best of the best. Can’t share anything else for a very long time, but I couldn’t be more proud of what we did.”
The post has since been deleted, and his account is now private.
Although A24 hasn’t officially confirmed that filming is over, the deleted post hints that the movie is in its final stages. The movie is now expected to move into post-production before its release.
Filming started earlier this year. The movie stars Nick Offerman, Havana Rose Liu, Jonathan Pryce, Peter Serafinowicz, Cailee Spaeny, Tom Burke, and Kit Connor. Garland is directing the film.
The popular video game was released in 2022 and became a huge hit. It was directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, with the story’s world created by George R.R. Martin, the author of Game of Thrones. The game has sold over 30 million copies and won several Game of the Year awards.
