ABC has decided to pull the plug on The Wonder Years after it ran for only two seasons.
According to Deadline, the family television network canceled The Wonder Years because it “struggled to attract and maintain a large audience.”
Based on the 1988-1993 ABC series of the same name, The Wonder Years focuses on an imaginative African American 12-year-old boy named Dean Williams (Elisha “EJ” Williams) who resides in Montgomery, Alabama during the 1960s. The show first aired sometime in 2021.
The main cast also includes Dulé Hill and Saycon Sengbloh as Dean’s parents and Laura Kariuk as Dean’s sister, Kim. Don Cheadle plays as an older version of Dean and the show’s narrator.
