Adam Sandler will be starring in Netflix’s new movie, Hustle. Sources say that he will be playing as a Philadelphia 76ers basketball scout named Stanley Sugarman. Sugarman is known for recruiting a rising athlete from Spain.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about his new role in Hustle, Sandler said:
“I knew this movie was a different feel for me. But it’s kind of a combination of stuff I’ve done in the past and a newer version of who I am.”
He correlates his new acting gig with his role in Rocky (Mickey):
“It’s very much a Rocky story. And I’m not Mickey in it — there’s never gonna be another Mickey — but I like being that kind of guy, getting to talk to a young man and getting him fired up.”
Other cast members in Hustle include:
Queen Latifah, Ben Foster, and Robert Duvall.
NBA players will be a part of the film as well. The players include Anthony Edwards, Tobias Harris, Seth Curry, Matisse Thybulle, and Tyrese Maxey.
