Adult Swim, Cartoon Network’s late-night adult alternative network, has a long history of producing and distributing content you wouldn’t find on typical daytime television. Among those series include classic adult animated series such as Family Guy and The Boondocks, though there are others that do a much greater job of defining the ethos of Adult Swim. Chiefly among those is the stop-motion animated series Robot Chicken, set to air its eleventh season on the network in the near future. Exactly when that will be has been finally unveiled for eager fans via a new trailer for the eleventh season released by Adult Swim this week, which can be seen below.
Robot Chicken might appear rather crude on the surface, but the idea is wholly unique and quite genius in a way. Not only does it employ the challenging medium of stop-motion, but it also acts as a parody series that draws on the nostalgia of classic popular culture of the late 20th and 21st century. The result is a rather amusing show with fifteen minute episodes that are sure to satiate anyone’s quick demand for content, hence its fifteen year and ten season run this far. Now an eleventh season is on the way, with the new trailer released by Adult Swim highlighting the classic style and humor the show is notorious for. It also highlights the new season’s release date, which will premiere on Adult Swim on September 6th at Midnight.
Though it may not be for everybody, Robot Chicken has certainly earned his spot upon Adult Swim’s late-night scheduling. I personally can remember watching the show as a pre-teen, and it still persists as one of the network’s most popular programs. I’m sure many others can remember the first time they watched Robot Chicken and tried to wrap their head around it, with potential difficulty given just how bizarre the show is. Those individuals and diehard Robot Chicken fans can experience those feelings once more once the eleventh season hits Adult Swim next month.
