After a lengthy delay of 10 years following the release of Avatar and Avatar 2: The Way of Water directed by James Cameron, news has surfaced about a new sequel, Avatar 3: The Seed Bearer. The announcement indicates that Avatar 3 is set to tackle new challenges and is scheduled for a December 2025 release, possibly around Christmas. In a 2022 interview with Collider, producer- Jon Landau revealed that he and members of his team have already completed filming about 95% of the scene for Avatar 3 and even shared snippets of Avatar 4.

During a 2023 interview on “Soundtracking with Edith Bowman,” it was revealed that changes were still being made during the production of Avatar: The Way of Water.
