Scoop of the Day
Big disappointment! Blade has sadly been canceled. After the last film, Deadpool & Wolverine left you hoping for a Blade movie. It seems the standalone reboot of the vampire hunter has been completely shelved.
While it’s not entirely shocking—especially after Marvel pulled Blade from its 2024 release lineup in October. The Playlist reports that the film’s development has been “paused for now.”
It appears that despite the movie being announced over five years ago, the one consistent element throughout the process has been the involvement of actor Mahershala Ali.

Just last week, rumors circulated that Chad Stahelski, the director behind the John Wick franchise, was in talks to helm the Blade reboot. However, a recent update suggests that this may no longer be the case.
What’s particularly interesting about this news is that Blade, with Mahershala Ali still set to star in the titular role, could still make his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but possibly through a completely different film.

One likely possibility for Blade’s introduction is the Midnight Sons project, though Marvel has yet to officially confirm its existence. However, reports suggest that the studio has been accelerating the development of this film, with a potential release slated for late 2024.
