Bones could possibly get a revival, according to Hart Hanson, the show’s creator.
While attending a reunion for Bones, Hanson spoke with Variety about how the show has the potential to continue. However, the probability of it happening is slim because it’ll be hard to figure out who owns what and what platform it would show on.
“It’s complicated now because Fox broadcast ‘Bones,’ but Disney now bought 20th, so they own [the show]. It would take a million agents and lawyers to figure out who owns what and what platform it would show on,” Hanson said.
“But we do keep talking. And every once in a while, we are all nostalgic enough to think, ‘Maybe we should do it again.’ Who knows? Maybe this will bump-start us.”
Bones is about two forensic anthropologists, Dr. Temperance’ Bones’ Brennan and FBI Agent Seeley. Together, they solve cases by examining the remains of victims. The series ran for 246 from 2005-2017. Bones is Fox’s longest-running scripted drama series.
