Although it’s been a while since Deadpool and Wolverine hit theaters, the film has made a strong comeback at the box office. Collider reports that the action-packed superhero flick earned almost $3 million domestically in its final week on the big screen. The film has been performing exceptionally well and is now even being compared to Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. Interestingly, this may not be a surprise, given that the movie has officially entered the list of the top 20 films in box office history.
Deadpool and Wolverine is also expected to rack in $5 million and surpass Barbie‘s numbers. With this feat, the movie will secure the 12th spot at the domestic box office.
Deadpool and Wolverine have made a significant impact at the box office, grossing nearly $1.32 billion worldwide. The film has earned $631 million domestically and $690 million internationally and is just $4 million short of surpassing The Last Jedi. This achievement cements the movie as a major success for the MCU, debuting as the seventh highest-grossing international film.
The film now stands among some of the biggest box office hits, including Black Panther ($1.33 billion), Avengers: Age of Ultron ($1.4 billion), The Avengers ($1.5 billion), Spider-Man: No Way Home ($1.9 billion), Avengers: Infinity War ($2 billion), and Avengers: Endgame ($2.7 billion).
Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool, and Wolverine features Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds as the iconic duo representing the MCU in this latest installment.
Deadpool and Wolverine premiered in theaters on July 26, 2024.
