The OVO Sound/Republic release has secured its 13th consecutive week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, surpassing the previous personal benchmark held by his 2011 sophomore classic, Take Care.
For Drake, the achievement is significant for more than the number attached to it. ICEMAN isn’t just maintaining its position at the top. In fact, it is officially becoming the longest-running No. 1 album of his career on the chart.
ICEMAN Outlasts Take Care
On the Billboard chart dated September 5th, ICEMAN registered 41,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the August 21st–27th tracking period, according to Luminate. Although the album experienced a 6% week-over-week decline, its staying power remained undeniable. ICEMAN maintained a 10,000-unit advantage over its nearest competitor, Michael Jackson’s legendary Thriller, which landed at No. 2 with 31,000 units.
The latest result pushes ICEMAN beyond Take Care’s 12-week reign at the summit, giving Drake a new personal record. And considering the cultural longevity of Take Care, that distinction carries plenty of weight. Released in 2011, Take Care became one of the defining albums of Drake’s early career, establishing a blueprint for the emotionally transparent, genre-blurring approach that would become synonymous with his artistry. Now, more than a decade later, ICEMAN has taken its place above it in the record books.
Drake’s Longest-Running No. 1 Albums
With ICEMAN officially taking the crown, Drake’s longest-leading albums on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart now read:

From Take Care to Nothing Was the Same, Scorpion, Certified Lover Boy, and For All the Dogs, Drake’s ability to sustain commercial momentum across different eras has remained one of the most consistent elements of his career. ICEMAN has now added another milestone to that legacy.
Another No. 1 Adds To Drake’s Historic Resume
The accomplishment comes alongside another major piece of Drake’s Billboard history. With ICEMAN, Drake has reached his 17th No. 1 album on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, tying The Temptations for the most No. 1 albums by any act in the chart’s 61-year history.
Future has also since matched that total, further emphasizing just how rare the accomplishment remains. But Drake’s dominance with ICEMAN doesn’t stop at the album chart. The project delivered his record-extending 31st and 32nd No. 1s on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with “What Did I Miss?” and “Janice STFU,” respectively.
“Janice STFU” added another impressive statistic to the run, spending seven weeks at No. 1. That marks Drake’s longest reign on the songs chart since “In My Feelings” dominated for 11 weeks in 2018. In other words, ICEMAN isn’t only performing well as a complete body of work… but its individual tracks are continuing to translate into major chart moments of their own.
Still Standing On The Billboard 200
Nonetheless, even while dominating the R&B/hip-hop and rap-specific charts, ICEMAN continues to maintain a presence across the broader musical landscape. The album holds at No. 9 on the Billboard 200, while also securing its 13th week at No. 1 on Top Rap Albums. Three different chart positions. One project. More milestones.
