In early October, Floyd Mayweather announced he will be teaming up with Hidden Empire Films to release a brand new docuseries titled The GOAT. The series promises to give fans an exclusive look into the life of the undefeated boxer and entrepreneur. This will include never before seen footage of Mayweather as he discusses the ups and downs of his journey to success.
The boxing champ, according to Variety, has signed a life-rights deal to produce the docuseries The GOAT. Deon Taylor and Roxanne Avent Taylor of Hidden Empire Films will help take viewers through Mayweather’s life and career as a champion athlete and more.
During an interview with TMZ Sports, Mayweather emphasized that he wanted to be able to tell his story, his way so he will be heavily involved with the production stages from start to finish.
“I want to be able to tell my story in my way. I don’t want the people to think I take certain pieces out and it’s all glory. There’s a lot of ups and downs in life every day. And there’s a lot of struggles. Not just with myself but with my loved ones.”
Mayweather’s personal film library is now in the hands of Hidden Empire Films. The production company has exclusive access to his life chronicles. Mayweather’s archives include hours of video and audio recordings documenting his rise to the world’s highest-paid athlete and undefeated welterweight champion. The GOAT docuseries will be realized with this material as well as a separate documentary and narrative series.
