Epix has officially released a new video snippet for the second season of their crime drama series, Godfather of Harlem. The show stars Forest Whitaker, whose character tries to reclaim Harlem. The upcoming season will premiere on April 18th, 2021.
Godfather of Harlem explores the life of Whitaker’s character, an infamous crime boss who returns home after being locked up for eleven years. Upon returning home, he sees his neighborhood in ruins and discovers that the Italian mob is calling the shots. At that moment, Whitaker realizes that he must take action as soon as possible. According to ComingSoon, “Godfather of Harlem is a collision of the criminal underworld and the civil rights movement during one of the most tumultuous times in American history.”
The show is written and created by Chris Brancato and Paul Eckstein. ABC Signature also produces it.
