After the rapper-entrepreneur, Nipsey Hussle‘s passing, the world stood still and payed their respects in various ways. To date, there have been a plethora of freestyles over Hussle’s beats, social media posts and even fashion statements. Still, there’s one tribute, to date, that ends up standing out from the rest: Harlem, New York’s annual “Nipsey Hussle Appreciation Day.” According to The Shade Room, the village of Harlem made the announcement at Ruckers Park on June 1st.
Additionally, all walks of life peeped out for the joyous moment. This one, surely, is for the books. Revolt says, “Indigo Grant, the self-described artist manager, executive producer, and event organizer described the day as a “huge success.” Grant also revealed she was able to get four proclamations and eight citations passed in Hussle’s honor.”
This news follows after The Crips filed for trademark of Nipsey Hussle’s “The Marathon Continues” slogan. The gang plans on using the slogan to develop educational manuals for others who are apart of community organizing, gang prevention, and gang intervention.
Another notable mention is Nipsey Hussle’s store, The Marathon Clothing. Reportedly, The Marathon Clothing has made $10 million in sales since his death.
Rest easy Nips.
