Fans of Deadpool and Wolverine were in for a surprise with the return of Wesley Snipes, signaling that the franchise had much more in store. In addition to Blake Lively starring as Lady Deadpool, Deadpool has pulled off some surprises by introducing another female superhero in the film: Elektra.
Since the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, the journey has been filled with emotional highs and has provided great enjoyment for fans. After 19 years, Jennifer Garner made her comeback and expressed her excitement about reprising her role. She shared her feelings in an Instagram post, stating:
“During the debut of The Adam Project, which was directed by Shawn and featured Ryan Reynolds alongside Deadpool and Wolverine, they shared a unique connection that allowed them to communicate ideas effortlessly—whether it was 20 pages of dialogue or intricate concepts like nuclear codes. There’s a remarkable artistic chemistry between the two”.
In addition to this she also shared on her Instagram about how she convinced her kids and their friends that she is a secret ninja. “Besides attempting to convince my kids’ preschool friends that I was a secret ninja, I hadn’t portrayed Elektra since 2004 I was in shape, but not Marvel-level fit,” Garner explained. She noted that she and her longtime stunt double, Shauna Duggins intensified their training in preparation. They worked out once a day with Beth Nicely, took boxing classes three times a week with Flvco Pichardo, and engaged in numerous workouts led by Peloton’s Becs Gentry.
Garner expressed her enthusiasm for filming this project and gratitude towards both Levy and Reynolds for reviving her character. She stated, “I didn’t realize that Elektra and I needed an ending, but Shawn and Ryan did. They are incredibly talented in many ways, but their ability to recognize and uplift those around them is paramount”.
Later, the talented actress shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of her returning to character.
