Paramount and Kevin Hart have teamed up to develop a remake of Scrooged, the 1988 Christmas comedy which starred Bill Murray as Frank Cross, a cynical and selfish TV executive, who is visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve. Their intentions are to help him regain his Christmas spirit. Accompanying Murray were legends like Karen Allen, Bobcat Goldthwait and Robert Mitchum. When the film first came out, it was a moderate box office hit, but years later has become a cult-like Christmas hit!
Scrooges’ long-lasting appeal is the real life comedy modern per say take on the Dickens’ classic and Kevin Hart taking on the role of Frank Cross not only will be hilarious but a new Christmas staple for the holidays. We do know Kevin’s company, Hartbeat Productions, will be involved and searching for the perfect writer to pen the script is in the works! Worst part? We’ll have to wait until Christmas to see it. Bah Humbug!
