This past week, Lana Del Rey made a public announcement about her upcoming album plans. There has been both good news and bad news. On her latest Instagram video, she announced that she would soon release a new album of “American Standards and Classics”, planned on being in time for the holiday season, although she did not confirm an exact release date yet. It’s just over a month away! The album is expected to have a mix of her covers of popular American Christmas songs, to lift all of us listeners up and have something exciting to look forward to in the coming month. People are already getting ready for the Christmas season, and some radio stations are already playing Christmas songs every day, so it’s definitely not too early to start, especially with how much Americans think about and enjoy this coming wonderful time of the year!
However, this new album will take precedence over her longtime, highly anticipated coming album “Chemtrails Over The Country Club” which she has repeatedly pushed back. This album, led by her admirable new single “Let Me Love You Like a Woman”, was supposed to be out in September, but the lead single just came out. The album was understandably delayed due to Covid-19, but now it will likely be published no earlier than March 2021. At least we have her single to enjoy for now, and we are ready for more to come!
