Macklemore has been relatively quiet lately, but that’s about to change faster than his fans can say poof! On November 3, the Seattle-bred artist shared an Instagram photo of himself dressed as wizard and said he’s been working on a “magic rap” album, which he says is the first of its kind. He is also encouraging his fans to help him with a title for the album with a contest.
“I’ve been working hard on this magic shit. And now I’m combining both of my talents for the first ever Magic Rap album. And YOU get to pick the name. Drop the best album title in the comments, I’ll select the best one and whoever wins gets a free dog. (I pick the dog and I get to name it though. That’s fair). Good luck.” Says Macklemore.
A “first-ever” hybrid album blending magic and hip-hop. The new project will mark Macklemore’s first full-length outing since delivering on 2017’s Gemini. The project featured a wide list of guest appearances from Offset, Kesha and Lil Yachty. Music and magic? How bad could that be, right? We can’t wait to see if Houdini is featured on a track.
