The cast has been revealed for Tyler Perry and Netflix’s new series, Beauty in Black. According to Netflix, the drama show will star Taylor Polidore Williams and Crystle Stewart. The cast list also includes Amber Reign Smith, Ricco Ross, Debbi Morgan, Richard Lawson, Steven G. Norfleet, Julian Horton, Terrell Carter, Shannon Wallace, Bryan Tanaka, Joy Rovaris, Charles Malik Whitfield, Tamera “Tee” Kissen, Ursula O. Robinson, Ashley Versher, George Middlebrook, and Xavier Smalls.
Beauty in Black is a project from Tyler Perry’s multiyear first-look deal with Netflix.
Beauty in Black explores the lives of two women who bump into each other by chance. Kimmie struggles to make ends meet after being kicked out of her mother’s home. Meanwhile, Mallory becomes successful with her own business.
The series is written, directed, and produced by Tyler Perry. Regarding production, Tyler Perry is joined by Angi Bones and Tony Strickland.
In the future, Tyler Perry will also team up with Netflix to release the Six Triple Eight movie. The film is said to “focus on the first African American women in the Women’s Army Corps who were stationed overseas during World War II.”
