Stan Lee is getting an official documentary over at Disney+. The comic book writer, editor, publisher, and producer’s film will roll right in time for his 100th birthday. Although there are no more details on the documentary, Marvel fans know it debuted sometime in 2023.
Disney+ dropped a trailer for the Stan Lee documentary as well, which focuses on Lee’s memorable movie cameos before he passed away in 2018.
Lee is known for co-creating the majority of the characters in the Marvel Universe. He’s helped with the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Doctor Strange, and more. The multi-hyphenate was last seen in Avengers: Endgame but has appeared in 37 other Marvel accounts.
More recently, Disney signed a 20-year deal that allows them to use Lee’s name, likeness, and voice in future Marvel Cinematic Universe projects. The agreement also gives Marvel some leeway to utilize the late comic book artist in Disney theme parks, experiences, and merchandising.
