The First Full ‘F1’ Movie Trailer Officially Drops

Warner Bros. has finally released the first full-length trailer for the highly anticipated F1 movie starring Brad Pitt. After months of teasers and sneak peeks, this new trailer gives viewers a much clearer view of the plot and showcases the film’s impressively realistic cinematography, which is designed to keep viewers fully locked into the high-speed action. This filmmaking style resembles the one in Top Gun: Maverick, which also emphasizes realistic shots. However, it comes as no surprise, considering both films are directed by Joseph Kosinski.

Just like Top Gun: Maverick, F1 follows the story of a veteran who gets counted out by the world, only to get one final shot at redeeming himself. Pitt stars as Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One whose career never took off. Despite this, his spirits still remain high. After racing in other circuits, Sonny is unexpectedly offered a chance to join the APX Mercedes team as a second driver while also mentoring a rising star, Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris. Along the way, the two tend not to see eye to eye, and they both struggle to gain the respect of their fellow competitors. The trailer teases these issues, leaving just enough mystery to keep viewers eager for more.

F1 legend Lewis Hamilton, who was involved in the film’s production, recently applauded Brad Pitt’s driving skills.

“Watching Brad drive at over 180 miles per hour was really impressive. It’s not something you can just pick up overnight,” Hamilton told ESPN.

Pitt even visited the F1 Grand Prix tracks on a daily basis to drive the film’s race car. He supposedly drove on the track between filming but remained fully helmeted, so he would remain anonymous to the crowd. Some scenes filmed at these live events even showed Pitt’s face, sparking speculation about the film well before its official reveal.

F1 is set to hit theaters on June 27, 2025.
