Deadline reports that The CW has given the green light to Heather Mitchell and Rob Thomas’ long-awaited series adaptation of The Lost Boys for a new pilot. The show’s remake of episode one will feature a new cast and will be directed by The Vampire Diaries’ Marcos Siega.
Ironically, The Lost Boys is based on a 1987 horror-comedy of the same name. Beforehand, Twilight‘s director Catherine Hardwicke was set to do the job. Since then, there have been reshoots and recasting.
The Lost Boys explores the life of brothers, Michael and Sam Emerson, as they moved to Santa Carla with their mother, Lucy after their father passed. Things take a twist though when the brothers find themselves being lured into the seductive world of Santa Carla’s youthful and enchanting undead.
Currently, there is no release date for The Lost Boys.
