The Weeknd is acting alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan in an upcoming (and untitled) film. The movie will see the R&B singer playing a lead role. Not much is known about the plot. However, Variety reports that The Weeknd has co-written the script with Reza Fahim, Kevin Turen, Trey Edward Shults, and Harrison Kreiss. Shults will be directing the movie as well. The production will be in Los Angeles.
The Weeknd’s acting debut started with his appearance in the 2019 film Uncut Gems with Adam Sandler and Julia Fox. He’s also done voice acting in the adult animated series American Dad! and The Simpsons. Later this year, he’ll be in HBO’s The Idol with Lily-Rose Depp.
