During a sit-down with Comic Book, executive producers Joe and Anthony Russo spoke about Netflix’s upcoming Extraction sequel, unveiling that they’re still working on the action film’s screenplay. Joe Russo also revealed that they’re planning to start shooting the sequel sometime next year.
Yeah we’re still working on two,” Joe Russo said. “We’re in the script phase right now but we’re hoping to shoot that sometime next year. And then you know, say I’m super excited, Hemsworth’s super excited, Netflix is excited so it’s really just a function of getting the script done.”
Extraction is set in an underworld of weapons dealers and traffickers and finds a young boy who becomes the middle man in a war between notorious drug lords. After being trapped by kidnappers inside one of the world’s most dangerous cities, his rescue calls on the unparalleled skill of a mercenary named Tyler Rake. But Rake is a broken man with nothing to lose, building on a death wish that makes an already deadly mission near impossible.
