Kofi Black

Kofi Black is a singer, songwriter, producer, and engineer from Staten Island, New York — a rare voice who moves fluidly between Afrobeats, R&B, Highlife, Soul, and global contemporary music.  Rooted in Ghanaian heritage and shaped by New York’s relentless energy, Kofi has crafted a sound that feels both internationally expansive and deeply personal.  Born at the crossroads of Park Hill, Staten Island and Ghanaian musical tradition, Kofi was raised in a household where Motown, Afrobeats, Reggae, Jazz, Gospel, and Country were woven into everyday life before he ever touched a microphone.  The son of a Gospel-trained Brooklyn pianist and a Highlife producer from Ghana, music was never simply an ambition — it was inheritance, purpose, and calling. Known throughout the industry as “The Secret Weapon,” Kofi Black’s fingerprints are embedded in the DNA of modern music.  He has collaborated closely with DJ Suss OneMariah Carey’s DJ, on-air personality for Power 105.1, and official DJ for The Sherri Show — helping build records connected to Tory Lanez, Juicy J, Wale, Eric Bellinger, Bobby Shmurda, and more.  Mentored by Grammy-winning super producer Wyclef Jean, Kofi has recorded and collaborated alongside Nipsey Hussle, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Young M.A., and legendary production duo Track Masters.  Formally recognized by the Recording Academy, Kofi Black is not an emerging artist — he is an established force the world is finally catching up to.  His career has already carried him onto some of entertainment’s most iconic stages and platforms, including Yankee Stadium, the Apollo Theater, the BET Awards, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with Wyclef Jean, Pusha T, Lola Brooke and Capella Grey, while his original music has also appeared in Netflix productions.  This is not the story of an artist trying to break into the industry. This is the story of an artist whose legacy has already begun — and whose next chapter is about to redefine the scale of his impact.
