Sydney Sweeney recently hinted that the third season of Euphoria might begin filming soon.
In a clip shared by MTV on their X, formerly known as Twitter, Sydney Sweeney was interviewed by MTV’s Josh Horowitz, who asked the actress if she was taking time off after the SXSW premiere of her horror film, Immaculate.
Although she didn’t give a direct answer, Sweeney replied, “I got Euphoria next,” suggesting that filming may begin for the HBO Max series. Another hint about the new season was given away when Sydney Sweeney said that filming for Euphoria felt like home.
“I always feel like I go home,” she stated. “It’s like home when I go back to it.” The clip can be seen below.
HBO Max’s content chairman Casey Bloys spoke about the new season this January as well while being interviewed for TheWrap.
Bloys said: “We’ll see how it goes. [Levinson is] writing Season 3 right now, he’s in the thick of it. So I don’t know that he is laying out what the future looks like. It’s just getting Season 3 done. I haven’t had a specific conversation with him about whether this is the end or what it looks like.”
Euphoria stars Zendaya as Rue Bennett, Hunter Schafer as Jules Vaughn, Sweeney as Cassie Howard, Jacob Elordi as Nate Jacobs, Maude Apatow as Lexi Howard, Angus Cloud as Fez, Alexa Demie as Maddy Perez, Barbie Ferreira as Kat Hernandez, and Storm Reid as Gia Bennett.
As per the synopsis, Euphoria “explores the lives of a group of high school students as they grapple with issues of drugs, sex, and violence.”
Cloud passed away in July of 2023, so there’s no telling what could happen to his character. Ferreira, on the other hand, decided her time was up with the series so what’ll happen to her character is a mystery also.
Euphoria first aired on television in June 2019. Then, in January 2022, the series debuted its second season. By February 2022, the show was renewed for a third season.
