Scoop of the Day
Everyone was stunned by the news. Both Inside Out 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine have received significant feedback regarding their impact on their respective franchises. While Inside Out 2 has achieved impressive numbers as one of the world’s most successful animated films, Deadpool & Wolverine has garnered a buzz for breaking box office records once again.
Weeks after its release, Deadpool & Wolverine continues to perform exceptionally well at the box office. By its seventh weekend, it had earned $614 million domestically and an additional $673 million from international markets.
The film has surpassed several others, including live-action movies like Beauty and the Beast and Frozen, at the global box office. It has become a major hit, ranking as the 22nd highest-grossing film of all time. Additionally, Deadpool & Wolverine is making waves and may surpass the $1.308 billion global earnings of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. There’s about a 50% chance it could break into the top 15 highest-grossing films of all time, having already surpassed Barbie, which grossed $1.445 billion globally.
Deadpool & Wolverine has emerged as one of the most entertaining R-rated films for fans. It even received an impressive 79% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an even more impressive audience score exceeding 95%.
The action-packed movie’s success is further reflected in its impressive box office performance. Starring Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, this film has become the highest-grossing R-rated film and has made a significant mark in MCU history. It currently stands as the 7th highest-grossing film in the MCU, following hits like The Avengers ($1.5 billion), Spider-Man: No Way Home ($1.9 billion), Avengers: Infinity War ($2 billion), Black Panther ($1.3 billion), and Avengers: Endgame ($2.7 billion).
Many opinions have been expressed regarding the recent releases of Twister and The Fall Guy, which debuted a few months ago. Following their release, Universal Studios has faced some backlash for putting both films on a digital streaming platform. While this is not the only point of contention, Disney has also made a significant decision to postpone the release of its blockbusters for this year.
