Disney is demonstrating its commitment to filmmaking by taking their latest project all the way to Hawaii, where the live-action adaptation of Moana is currently being filmed off the coast of Oahu.
TMZ has uncovered fresh footage of the production happening near Honolulu, showcasing scenes of the adventurous heroine as she navigates her canoe in a picturesque harbor just last week.
There seems to be a twist, as the actress on the ship zips across the water as a crew barge captures the action on film. How amazing is that?! It remains uncertain whether Catherine Lagaʻaia, who portrays Moana in the movie, is aboard the boat or if a stunt double is taking her place.
Although Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has yet to make an appearance, sources believe that the man sporting a lush head of hair and wearing a traditional skirt is John Tui, the actor cast as Moana’s father.
The upcoming sequel in the franchise reunites many beloved members of the original cast, including Dwayne Johnson, Auliʻi Cravalho, Temuera Morrison, Nicole Scherzinger, and several other familiar faces.
Fans of Moana can anticipate a wealth of new content on the horizon as Disney is set to delight its devoted followers with an abundance of offerings while playfully reminding them, “You’re Welcome.”
