In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Rihanna revealed that since becoming a mother, her once-deep passion for fashion has taken a backseat.
Finding Her Style Again
While fans have always admired her bold fashion choices, Rihanna recently opened up about the emotional journey of reconnecting with her personal style.
“Getting dressed feels like a challenge these days,” she admitted. “Everything has become so… practical. I catch myself asking: What’s the easiest option? What makes the most sense? I try not to overthink it, but sometimes, just getting ready to leave the house can feel overwhelming. It makes me reconsider how much energy I want to put into it.”
As she styles her hair and applies makeup, she finds herself sifting through her wardrobe, searching for a combination that works. “It feels like navigating through a haze,” she said. “Fashion is such an exhilarating experience, and I truly miss that joy.”
But now, Rihanna is beginning to rediscover her love for style. “It’s all about contrast—mixing pieces that shouldn’t go together. My fashion choices have always reflected my emotions, and for a while, my mindset was all about being a mom.”
She recalled a recent night out at Giorgio’s, where she kept it effortless. “I threw on my Savage onesie, slipped on some heels, and that was it. My only focus was enjoying a good meal. Why should I have to go through the trouble of dressing up for that?”
Balancing It All
With two young sons, RZA (born in 2022) and Riot Rose (born in 2023), Rihanna’s world is constantly in motion. While motherhood demands much of her time and attention, it also serves as a source of inspiration.
