After years of dedication to the pen and pad, Doechii‘s career has ascended in 2025, and the statistics speak for it. As of April 1, the rapper holds the title of most monthly Spotify listeners among all women in rap. The streaming platform shared a graphic showcasing the top-streamed female rappers. Leading the pack was the Florida native, boasting nearly 60 million monthly listeners. Following closely behind were Doja Cat with 56.5 million, Nicki Minaj with 45.1 million, Cardi B with 28 million, and Megan Thee Stallion with 26.4 million.
As her popularity has skyrocketed, Doechii has faced growing accusations of being an “industry plant.” But she continues to silence critics by letting her talent do the talking.
While accepting the 2025 Woman of the Year honor at Billboard’s Women in Music event on Saturday (March 29), the Grammy-winning artist addressed the rumors, making it known that her success results from her hard work and creativity.
“I can’t believe it was just two years ago I stood on this same stage accepting the Billboard Rising Star Award,” she said. “I had danced my shoes off during the performance and had to hop up to the mic barefoot. That moment captures how I approach everything — go hard, give it your all, and always show up fabulous.”

Later in her speech, she emphasized the power of women in music and leadership:
“We are the creatives, we are the executives, we are the innovators, just as vital to this industry as the men. Clock it! And I want everyone to hear me clearly when I say: it’s not a button, it’s our brains. It’s not a machine, it’s our leadership. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s our vulnerability. And it’s not an agenda. It’s God!”
Doechii’s influence isn’t just being felt by fans, it’s reaching fellow artists as well. One of them is Tyler, the Creator, who recently praised her in a conversation with Nardwuar.
