It seems as though Drake is truly the G.O.A.T (greatest of all time) as he now breaks Billboards Hot 100 with a record 208 entires as of March 21st. What song tipped the scale you ask? The track “Oprah’s Bank Account,” by Lil Yachty, Drake and DaBaby, debuted at No. 89, with almost all its chart points via its 10.5 million first-week U.S. streams in the week ending March 12, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, following its March 9 release.
Up until now, the Glee Cast claimed the most Hot 100 entrees as it claimed 207 chart climbs. Now, the rapper/songwriter makes it known that he is truly here to stay. Drake first entered the charts on May 23, 2009 with his single “Best I Ever Had” at No. 92 and has delivered hit upon hit ever since his debut. According to Billboard the Canadian rapper has spent a striking 431 consecutive weeks on the Hot 100 from his first week on the list through Aug. 19, 2017.
Drakes music has consistently been the soundtrack to many of our summers, heart breaks, accomplishments, and significant moments. Today, we celebrate this incredible achievement with him as he surpasses legends like Elvis Presley (108 appearances), James Brown (91 appearances), Ray Charles (75 appearances), Aretha Franklin (73 appearances) and The Beatles (71 appearances). In the words of Drake himself, “Life is Good”, when you’re a chart topping superstar.
