Hulu puts the Clan In Da Front releasing the teaser trailer for the biopic series of the revolutionary rap congregation, Wu Tang. The 10 episode series will focus on the creation of the Long Island, New York based nine-member rap group.
The series will detail the creation of a brotherhood that came to prosper. Wu Tang Clan was a force that sought to take over record companies using unique vocabulary, flows that change like chamiliones, and an extrodiarily explosive delivery. The clan became so popular all over the East Coast rap scene, highly influencing the sound of mid-1990s rap music.

Inspired by the books The Wu-Tang Manual and its sequel Tao of Wu, both written by the group’s frontman RZA, the series will be set at the height of the crack epidemic in ’90s-era New York and follow the group’s formation from a group of young black men who grow out of a life of crime into one of the most successful musical groups in American history, having sold 40 million albums worldwide and releasing five gold and platinum albums.
Co-created by RZA and Alex Tse (Superfly), the series will be executive produced by Brian Grazer at Imagine Entertainment, both known for working on praised musical dramas 8 Mile loosely chronicling the life of Eminem (whom also starred in the film) and Empire starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.
The rhyming and vibing rap group members are positively notorious. One of the members who has passed away due to drug overdose, Ol’ Dirty Bastard has a 1995 MTV special that featured the rapper picking up food stamps in a limo. While the group also having the New York City Council name the streets of the Park Hill Area – the Staten Island neighbourhood where members of the group come from – as the ‘Wu-Tang District’ all in honour of the clans contributions to the borough.
According to the Staten Island Advance, NYC council member Debi Rose spoke about the historic naming saying
“This is an opportunity to honour our hometown heroes, the young men who put Staten Island on the map internationally.” “They overcame all types of challenges, to not only become rap artists and hip-hop artists but [also] to inspire and challenge the music world”
