Emmy Award winning actor, Sterling K. Brown is allegedly gearing up to star in an upcoming action thriller titled, Coyote Blue. According to Variety, Amazon Studios competitively won the rights to the film. The This is Us actor will be teaming up with John Wick writer, Derek Kolstad who is on board to write the film. TV director, Hanelle M. Culpepper will also be making her debut into film directing by working on this film. The perfect trio!
The synopsis of the film is described as, “[A]n everyman (Brown) who’s hunted by a ruthless criminal syndicate for his mysterious cargo [now] must navigate the treacherous terrain of Route 66 while unleashing his lethal set of skills in a fight for survival.” The synopsis definitely leaves us wondering how the story line and title of the film will align. Either way, expect for there to be action on Route 66!
Brown has proven himself to be a well rounded actor with much work under his belt. Brown recently took to social media to express gratitude for his recent Emmy Award nominations for This is Is. Brown is also no stranger to staring in action packed productions, there is no doubt that he will crush this role! With very little information available on release date or other cast members, we’ll have to sit tight to see how this all unfolds.
Culpepper seems to have confirmed her part in the upcoming production. Yesterday, Culpepper took to Twitter retweeting the Variety article about the upcoming film with the caption, “Very excited to work with the amazing talents of
@SterlingKBrown and Derek Kolstad on this project!” I think we all can agree with her excitement as we wait for Coyote Blue.
