Back in 2017, Marvel elected to reboot the iconic Spider-Man franchise with the up-and-coming actor Tom Holland as the titular hero. While many of us are accustomed to seeing Tobey Maguire as the web-slinging superhero, Holland has done an excellent job in the role thus far through two films and helped revitalize the timeless franchise once again. He has starred in two Spider-Man films thus far, both of which have been incredibly successful, and is looking to complete the trilogy with the upcoming film Spider-Man: No Way Home. Earlier this week, the first official trailer for the project released and it teases a cameo from another Marvel superhero that is sure to have fans excited to say the least.
Despite the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame seemingly bringing an end to many of the characters’ stories, Marvel has proven once again they have plenty more left in the tank. The new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home serves as a great example of that, introducing a cross-over that even the most seasoned Marvel fans did not expect. In it, Holland struggles with his newfound fame as New York City’s latest and greatest superhero and looks towards another superhero for some assistance. That hero is Benedict Cumberbatch’s character Doctor Strange, the otherworldly superhero who utilizes time and space to generate his power, and the duo seem to be an intriguing match to say the least. Excited moviegoers can expect to see Spider-Man: No Way Home in theaters this holiday season on December 17th.
In just a few short years, Tom Holland has made himself the face of one of the most iconic superhero franchises to date. The young actor has quickly ascended the ranks of Hollywood and, in virtually no time at all, become a household name in the process. Now he will be looking to deliver once more, and the trailer for the upcoming project is certainly bound to pique fan’s interest. That trailer can be seen above, and Spider-Man: No Way Home can be seen in theaters this holiday season.
