Obi-Wan Kenobi’s very own, Benny Safdie, has joined the cast of Lionsgate’s anticipated rendition of Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. Safdie will star as Margaret’s father, Herb, which the book describes as a Jewish insurance salesman married to Barbara, a Christian housewife.
Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret finds Margaret Simon, a sixth-grader, questioning everything about adolescence, puberty, and other life events. With her mother and grandmother trying to guide her through the constant changes, they discover that you never stop questioning your path and defining what life’s all about.
The film also stars Abby Ryder Fortson, Rachel McAdams, and Kathy Bates.
