The R rated DC Birds of Prey performed this past weekend for its opening night Feb 7th though not reaching predicted box office numbers it’s still #1 and December releases not tracking too far behind.
The franchise set a $45-$55 million expectation while Box office showed opening numbers of domestic $33.2 million. Internationally Birds of Prey brought in $48 million for an $81.2 million worldwide take.
Followed by Sony’s Bad Boys For Life taking the #2 on box office-earnings, $12 million on the weekend making a $166.3 million domestic total and $336.3 million worldwide.
1917 maintaining top chart rankings, the December 4th released film bought in 9 million this past weekend (only 5% down from last weekend) totaling $132.5 million domestically and $287.3 million worldwide.
Dolittle at #4 a slight drop in collections but upholding a $63.9 million domestically and $158.6 million worldwide.
Sony’s Jumanji: The Next Level held starring Dwayne Johnson and comedian Kevin Hart is staying strong ranking #5 on Box Office since it’s release early December last year. Number show $5.5 million for a $298.4 million domestic collect and a worldwide take of $768.4 million.
Next weekend’s grosses will show slate competition as Sonic the Hedgehog, Fantasy Island and The Photograph are all scheduled for release on the same day Feb 14th.
