The second trailer for the upcoming Charlie’s Angels movie officially dropped this morning, further teasing the action packed Elizabeth Banks-directed franchise reboot. Not only will Banks be directing the project but she will also take a role in front of the camera playing Bosley: the face of the enigmatic and never-seen owner of the detective agency, Charlie Townsend. Naomi Scott, who stars as Jasmine in Disney’s Aladdin remake, and British newcomer Ella Balinska are also set to join Kristen Stewart as Charlies newest angels.
The new story takes the same detective agency premise of the original TV series, the 2000 and 2003, movies with the Townsend Agency now a security and intelligence service that has teams around the world. The movie will focus on one of those teams and the next generation of Angels.
In the preview below, Stewart leads a trio of self-described “lady spies,” including Scott and Balinska. Under the guidance of Bosley, the women band together for a mission to thwart a villainous plot to use dangerous technology for evil. Along the way, the women must use an array of gadgets and wear multiple disguises.
In addition to the trailer, Ariana Grande — who recently teamed with Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey to record “Don’t Call Me Angel,” an original song for the film — also unveiled the complete list of songs set to appear on the film’s accompanying soundtrack, including new tunes from Nicki Minaj, Normani, Kim Petras, Brazilian superstar Anitta, Chaka Khan, Victoria Monét, and five original songs by Grande.
